Engineered Pump Packages
Engineered Pump Units & Pump Systems
100% Configurable Around Your Application
There is no fixed SPECK engineered pump package.
From a compact baseplate pump unit to a complete skid-mounted multi-pump system, every package can be configured around the required flow, pressure, medium, operating duty and installation. Pump selection, electric motor, inverter control, materials, filtration, valves, instrumentation, pipework, frame design and system controls can all form part of the finished unit.
Start With the Application, Not a Standard Package
Tell us what the pumping system needs to achieve. Flow, pressure, pumped medium, temperature, operating pattern, inlet conditions, electrical supply and available space can all influence the final design. We then configure the engineered pump unit around those requirements rather than asking you to adapt the application to an off-the-shelf package.
Pump Skids, Packaged Pump Systems & Complete Pumping Units
Different industries use different terms for packaged pumping equipment. Whether your requirement is described as an engineered pump unit, pump skid, skid-mounted pump system, packaged pump system, baseplate pump unit, multiple-pump package or complete industrial pumping system, SPECK can configure the equipment around the application.
The Pump System Is Built Around the Duty.
Pump quantity, motor size, operating pressure, flow, wetted materials, frequency control, filtration, tanks, manifolds, safety devices, instrumentation and control logic can all be selected around the actual application. From a straightforward single-pump assembly to a fully integrated industrial pump system, the level of integration is your choice.
From Pump Sets to Complete Industrial Pump Systems
A small process package may require little more than the correct SPECK pump, motor and control equipment. A larger installation may incorporate several pumps, common manifolds, filtration, booster pumps, instrumentation, inverter control and a fabricated frame. The package is specified according to what the application actually needs.
Specify What Matters to Your Application
The pump is only one part of a reliable pumping system. We can configure the complete assembly so the major components are selected to work together and suit the installation.
Pump Selection
SPECK pump selected around required flow, pressure, pumped medium, temperature and expected operating duty.
Wetted Materials
Pump head, seals, pipework and associated components selected according to medium compatibility.
Motor & Inverter
Electric motor and variable-speed inverter arrangements configured around the required operating range.
Pressure Control
Unloader, regulating and safety valves selected around the operating pressure and system control method.
Filtration & Feed
Filters, strainers, tanks, level control and booster pumps can be incorporated where required.
Instrumentation
Pressure gauges, transmitters, switches, flow monitoring and other instrumentation selected around the duty.
System Controls
Automatic start/stop, inverter control, staged pumps and demand-controlled operation can all be incorporated.
Frame & Layout
Baseplates, pump skids, fabricated frames, manifolds and component layout arranged around available space.
From One Washdown Gun to a Complete Multi-Gun Factory System
For factories with several cleaning points, a centralised high-pressure washdown system can supply multiple operators from one engineered pumping installation.
When only one washdown gun is open, the system operates at the output required for that demand. As more guns are opened, inverter-controlled pump speed increases and, on larger systems, additional pumps can be brought online automatically. As demand falls, the system reduces output again.
Constant pressure control
The system responds as operators open and close washdown guns,
helping maintain the required working pressure.
Capacity follows actual demand
Pump speed and, where appropriate, the number of running pumps
can be matched to the amount of water currently being used.
Designed around the number of users
Systems can be configured for anything from a small number
of cleaning points to much larger centralised factory washdown
installations.
Why Run Maximum Pump Capacity When the Factory Doesn't Need It?
A conventional fixed-speed pumping system may be sized around maximum simultaneous demand even though only one or two washdown points are operating for much of the working day.
Demand-Controlled Pumping
Variable-speed inverter control allows pump output to reduce when demand is low and increase as additional washdown guns are brought into use.
On larger multi-pump systems, individual pumps can also be staged on and off as demand changes. This can reduce unnecessary power consumption compared with continuously operating one oversized fixed-speed pump at maximum output or bypassing unused flow.
The system can therefore be designed around the real operating profile of the factory while still providing the required peak capacity when it is needed.
Engineered Pumping Systems for a Wide Range of Duties
SPECK engineered pump units can be configured for cleaning, water treatment, process and high-pressure applications across a wide range of industries.
Choose the Level of Integration You Need
The engineered package can be supplied at the level that makes sense for the project — from a pump and motor assembly for OEM integration through to a complete packaged pumping system.
Baseplate Pump Units
Pump, electric motor and drive supplied as a compact pre-assembled unit ready for integration into your equipment or process.
Integrated Pump Packages
Filtration, valves, instrumentation, pipework and electrical controls can be incorporated into the packaged system.
Complete Engineered Pump Systems
Larger installations can combine multiple pumps, common manifolds, inverter control, filtration, instrumentation and system controls on one engineered package.
Supplied as a Complete Working Pump Package
Complete engineered pump units are assembled and tested before dispatch so that the package can be checked as a system rather than simply supplied as a collection of individual components.
Relevant operating, installation and maintenance information for the principal components is supplied as applicable.
